Artist Statement:

My intention for my FMP was to explore my mind and my creative potential whilst communicating the sense of freedom within making bad art. My project explores the themes of collage and automatic art (using chance to lead the way.) I wanted to escape making art for the perfect final product which I’d always done because society rarely encourages individuality. Instead, I went searching for freedom in the creating process and trying the art I was always scared to make in fear I wouldn’t be a valid artist. I reached for my media because it has allowed for play and invention. My media relates to the ideas of automation because they were mostly found by chance lying around in the studio. My variety of works all comes together as being easy to produce in mass and already existing.
