Wokshops: 3D and Printing

Thursday 17th September 2020

Today I used I had 3D workshop and plaster mould pf my hand. I did this by using latex and plaster mix.

first I got a third filled plastic cup of blue latex powder then added water and mixed until all lumps had disappeared and I had a smooth paste. I poured and scraped the remaining latex liquid into my free hand into a position the wouldn't leak and kept still until it was dry to touch. I then carefully peeled the dry latex mould from my hand and started making my plaster mix. I got a plastic/rubber bowl to allow the plaster to grow and filled it up half way with warm water. I then scooped plaster powder into my bowl  slowly until I could see it setting under the water. I pored the excess water away and mixed the bowl with my hand to make sure there was not powder in the curves at the bottom of the bowl. I then scooped the mix up and dribbled it onto my hand mould resting on a reusable board. I cleaned up any excess mess and set to dry and left to dry for a week. I came back and peeled off as much rubber as possible, careful not to scratch the plaster mould
